Event Details

Controlling weeds in nurseries could be really expensive, right? Weeds affect the production cost, because they compete with crops for nutrients, light and water, for these reasons; effective weed management is necessary for your nursery or farm!!!but it is not always noticed as a main pest like whitefly or fungus.

Weeds should be identified as to whether they are grasses, broad-leafed weeds or sedges and be identified by name. When you properly ID your weed (you can always call your UF-Extension agent to help you) then the proper pre-emergent and/or post-emergent herbicide(s) can be chosen to give efficient control.

Speakers:

  • Dr. Robert H. Stamps, from UF/IFAS MREC, Apopka and
  • Dr. Dr. Charles Gilliam, from Auburn University
